The “CHOKE – in – CHOKE” Inner Profile of BRAIN Choke Tubes is the biggest breakthrough in the history of chokes, absolutely revolutionary and it is composed by three main sections:

• the Pre-Choking Section (“prepares” the shot column for entrering the Expansion Section)

• the Expansion Section (expands the volume of the shot column pulling pellets from core to periphery)

• the Final Choking Section (forms the desired pattern diameter)
   

All chokes until now have exactly the same inner profile design, the conventional conical – parallel or just conical. Regardless of the “..our own special design” or “..super geometry” etc advertised by the various choke tube manufacturers, purely for marketing reasons but without saying how or where they differ from each other.

It’s a common knowledge that virtually all conventional chokes obey to the “Dense Core Rule”: almost 2/3 of the pellets go in an “over killing” central circle of the 1/3 of the pattern surface and the rest 1/3 of them try to cover the peripheral 2/3 of the pattern surface, forming a “weak” or “just injuring” fringe with many empty spaces.

Consequently, with all conventional chokes until now, if you want to secure success, you have to be very accurate and manage to place your pattern’s core on your target, the fringe may not always “supply” adequate number of pellets to get the job done.

How it functions

BRAIN Chokes start with a tightening section before the expansion and this makes a very big difference! This first tightening section creates a dense core but, as the shot load passes through the expansion section drives more pellets from core to periphery and, because it enters the final tightening being at a phase of expanding, there is no more a dense core at the final pattern.

 

BRAIN Choke Tubes are the first and only choke tubes in the World that produce absolutely uniform patterns without the slightest distribution density difference between core and periphery. This way, almost the whole pattern surface becomes actually effective, increasing impressively your shots-to-kills ratio.

Our intense and exhausting tests (repeatedly verified by many independent shotgun specialists), show 5 – 20 % success increase, depending on the shooter’s skill level (the lower the level, the bigger the increase).

 

 

Brain chokes:

• Are the best performing chokes in the World by far, increasing the effective surface of the pattern by at least 80%, regardless the shotshell charge (from light competition to super magnum), shot size or material (lead, steel, tungsten or other), wad design or material (plastic or felt) etc in both HUNTING and COMPETITION.

• Offer greatly extended effective range , both closer and longer, compared to any other conventional choke tube of equivalent choke constriction. Unmatched versatility, complete confidence with less guesswork about the constriction you may need.

• Eliminate the differences of bore diameters between barrels of the same make (model / manufacturer), since the Pre-Choking section constitutes a new entrance to the final choking, forming its own accurate “bore to choke” relevance.

• Increase, due to the double Venturi effect, the shot velocity by an average of 2%.

• Separate all the cold-welded shot groups as they get shattered passing through two constrictions in a row, enhancing even more the pattern’s perfect uniformity.

BRAIN Chokes are the only chokes in the World that are made of

1) the best Swedish stainless tool steel (exclusively in the form of solid bars, never welded tubes), much stronger and harder (and far more expensive) than the usually used steel alloys (17-4 PH / USA or 42 CrMo4 / Europe), or

2) the best Titanium Grade 5 of  Aerospace specifications.

Of course both are 2,5 times harder and stronger than the hardest and strongest aluminum or aluminum alloy.

  BRAIN Chokes are the only chokes in the World that have been submitted to Thermal Stress Relief Process resulting to perfect interaction with the load passing through and avoidance of dimensional alterations in the future (oval perimeter shape etc).

• State of art machining
  BRAIN Chokes are made with the use of the most advanced state-of-art CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) machines and highly sophisticated custom made special tooling. Unlike other manufacturers, we manufacture BRAIN Chokes with a single “grip” of the lathe both externally and internally (something that requires very sophisticated tools). This guarantees perfect concentricity and precise alignment of the shot.

• Mirror polishing
  BRAIN Chokes are polished to mirror level, with near zero friction factor, for minimal carbon and plastic build-up and cleaning easiness.
